Ahh it’s been quite a while since I last posted because I’ve been so freaking busy D: Of course, I’ve somehow found a way onto facebook so YAY to that, but the others would require a (small) fee which I am going to settle soon… for now, just facebook is great enough~ Anyway, from my photos on facebook, you’d probably already know that I WENT TO THE SUPER JUNIOR CONCERT – SUPERSHOW2! ^^ I went with a very good friend, An Ting and we both blew 960RMB each – about 180SGD? – to get our butts there!
- Before I go on, I have to add that I’m typing this onto html, which means there I can’t access the LJ cut and what-nots… forgive me for flooding your friends page D: -
Anyway, 5 days before the concert, which was actually just 4 days after reaching shanghai, we decided that action was going to get us to the concert. So we put our words into actions and went onto taobao! Taobao.com is this mega webby that is dedicated to online shopping, you can buy virtually anything on it and have it delivered by the next day (: When I say anything, I really mean ANYTHING because we could get pandan leaves from the webby even…. Go check it out if you have nothing better to do.
So we got ourselves the 1280RMB tickets at 960RMB, but it was quite risky because we couldn't choose where we are going to end up seating. The only time when we find out is when we get out tickets from the seller at the venue straight. Deciding to have faith in the seller who kept promising us that he’d give us the best seats he can get, we agreed. Oh, and payment is only made after the concert, so we’re like ‘let’s do this!’. Another random fact about taobao.com, they have this on site msn thing that allows you to msn the seller on the spot as long as you’re logged in with an account. Cool huh? :D
(gets up to get my hairdryer. My fingers are freezing ): )
Back to my story, so on a rainy windy and extremely cold Saturday, we trooped down by train to the concert venue: shanghai da wu tai~ We reached around 3pm hoping to get better seats, the man met us and gave us a good section (we were centre left facing the stage) but damn bad row – row 14?! Well the guy insisted that the front rows would be empty because they couldn’t sell the 1280RMB tics… we were a little upset but no point arguing, we’ll see when we get in. The it was SHOPPING-FOR-FAN-MERCHANDISE TIME! Photos all on facebook, and I must say that it was quite an experience! (: Fangirling is such an affordable thing in shanghai, so cheap~ like 5RMB for a poster… we started off with the blue ‘SUPER JUNIOR’ bag and of course the sexy sapphire blue light sticks! :D then it was off to get more stuff, at the end of the night, I got myself 5 posters, one cup, one lightstick, one bag, 5 badges, one calendar, random photographs and loads of free banner given to us by the different fanclubs.
I thought it was pretty funny when I went to this stall and this uncle was selling his posters at 5RMB each (which is super cheap, considering they added the board). So I went:
‘Uncle! Do you have lee teuk’s (Chinese name – Li Te) poster?’
And the uncle honestly smiled sheepishly and said ‘eh I don’t know them.. so you just search and see he’s there.’
HAHAHAHA An ting and I couldn’t stop laughing, it was pretty cute~
6.30pm , we decided to enter the concert stadium. Whoever said China has no girls must be seriously deluded, I definitely saw like 8 million screaming girls (I spotted Koreans and Japanese too! Maybe An ting and I were the only Singaporeans..) flooding the whole area! We dutifully found our seats. After 5 seconds of surveying the area, we nonchalantly trooped over to row 1 and sat down at the best seats (nearest to the centre) and behaved as though we were the 2 lucky fangirls who actually managed to get the tickets for the best seats. An hour later, we were screaming our heads off as the concert kicked off and also out of sheer joy that we really became the two lucky fangirls with the great seats! HAHAHA! Lucky~~
The concert was awesome, I’m not going to bore you with fangirl details so let’s just say the experience was exhilarating and once in a lifetime. I’m already 20, my fangirl days are numbered… but for now, there’s always Super Junior. Hopefully before I graduate, Big Bang will come to shanghai too, help keep your fingers crossed for me k <3
Moving on, school life. After much bitching, whining and throwing off tantrums about not getting the classes I want, I’m settling for the classes I initially got T_T hahaha ok, to cut the long story short, I mostly got the classes I wanted and also the classes I thought was great proved me wrong. Anyway, I managed to squeeze in my Japanese lessons between my classes on thurs so I’m having full days of lessons on Weds and Thurs now.. This semester is also another 21 credits semester, but the classes are much heavier in content (more Chinese lit focused and more philosophy classes). I can happily tell you the names of famous philosophers in Chinese…. Thank goodness they at least have the decency of allowing us to read ‘The Republic’ in English, though my thesis would have to be done in Chinese… which technically means I’ll have to read the Chinese version on too? Dang.
I have Visual Basics homework to complete and tons of reading. Bye for now~ ((:

The time of the year is here again and the Singaporeans decided that being away from home doesn't have to equate being away from tangyuans. So we trooped down to walmart and staged an epic battle with the aunties/ah-mahs for the on-huge-discount tangyuans, we succesfully snagged 40 of them - of which we will regret buying so much, but that's later in the night when we almost had to play 终极密码 to clear up the leftovers D:

Wow lj is not blocked in China! :D Unbelievable but true, though it still lags very badly.. I’m actually typing this on Microsoft Words so that when the page loads, I can just paste this on and let it post (:
Shanghai is %$#^&$% cold, the days of double digit temperature has ended and it is back to 6 degrees this morning. (and I can assure you that it certainly is nowhere near 6 degrees considering the teeth chattering clod I’m experiencing now T_T) I have spent the day cleaning my dorm room with Sophia and unpacking the stuff. A layer of dust has gathered on all my stuff and ok, I just threw away like one million things to clear up more space. So far, only En Jin and Man Ying have come to collect their items from our very limited dorm room space, therefore, it is still quite crampy in the room. Total cramps my style. HAHA.
Had brunch with laoda, an ting, soph, yi xian and Wei Yeow at Chatres. Yummy stuff, photos for another post another day. (: Dinner at ING with the crowd and then it was off to visit An ting’s new home just across the street from dorm. YAY! Sleepovers at An Ting’s!!!! :D
Also excited because it’s just one more week till the Super Junior Concert in Shanghai!!!! And of course An ting and I are going (((: fufufufu~~~ she’ll support heechul and I’ll support eetuek… not forgetting ryeowook, kyunhyul, siwon, sungmin, donghae, eunhuek…etc. (ok that’s basically everyone in SuJu, but I think Kangin and Hankyung won’t be able to make it and I hope eunhyuk recovers from his swine flu asap!!!)
THIS IS LAGGING TO THE MAX. JUST TRYING IT OUT FOR NOW.UPDATE AGAIN SOON!

After being so disconnected from the english pop music world, I came back with zero knowledge of ALL the songs on the current top 20. Well, not a big issue that one week of listening to 987fm wouldn't settle. So I heard like tons of my new favourite songs out of which this is one of them--------->
This is Baby - Justin Bieber (pronounced as BEAVER) feat Ludacriss.
MY GOODNESS HE IS 15 YEARS OLD?! I think he is adorable anyway (: hehe!

I think I know why I'm so enthusiastic with this blogging thing suddenly. It's because my mind has subconsciously realised that when I reach shanghai I probably will blog less since there's the bloody proxy and lousy internet speeds to content with, HENCE it has made me want to blog more now. Compensation? maybe. Anyway, here's another update on my exciting and fattening stay in Singapore this winter (:
